This week is National Marine Week 2022. 

From the 23 July to 7 August, The Wildlife Trust is celebrating all things marine, with events taking place across the UK. Included in this week’s newsletter are stories that focus on the study of marine life, ocean conservation and microplastic levels in the ocean.

New experiments designed by physicist, Dr Hui Peng, explore the mysterious behaviour of light. Thomas Young’s famous double-slit experiment, overturned Isaac Newton’s conception of light as a collection of particles. However, the advent of quantum mechanics proved both physicists right: light is both particle and wave.
